As was mentioned in the last post, the orchestral prelude in C minor, In Search of Strength, is a symphonic poem based on a serious journey I had to take where strength and courage was needed and healing.
As I looked to find the terms to define the various themes, I found the emotion I was feeling in that theme would be its name.
Let me share with you two of the many themes in the piece in their introductory form:
One is in the opening moments of the piece.
You will hear a descending minor theme. Four notes. In a pulsing definitive pattern which is symbolic of the "Realization" of a negative concern in your life.
This theme would be developed and found expressing itself in many places inits journey of the music:
Listen to its introduction:

I refer to this theme as "A Descending Spirit" as ones spirit falls and descends when bearing a negative concern or time in their life.
The second theme I would like to share with you today, would be a broad theme in the minor that refers to time. Time that goes slowly as we go through to its resolve.
The theme is empathetic to the lingering wait to resolution.
I refer to this theme as "DAILY JOURNEY" as it represents the 'daily' waiting and journey we experience.
Here is that theme from the recording, IN SEARCH OF STRENGTH an Orchestral Prelude in C minor A Symphonic poem:

I hope you have found this interesting and hopefully will share in other discussions of the various themes in the piece How the evolve and bring a "story" to life in music..
Till the next time
