New Christmas Trio YOU ARE MY SON

Unique trio imagines the Blessed Mary's innermost thoughts as she holds her newborn son, Jesus with love and awe. The listener is brought into an intimate feeling of the Nativity with Mary and God's presence and the giver of life, the Holy Spirit.

The line of hte flute symbolizes the presence of God the Father.

The voice of the vocalist, that of Blessed Mary's innermost thoughts and

the harp, represents the presence of the Spirity of Life, the Holy Spirit.

I felt this format was strong in capturing the ambiance of a peaceful night when such a momentous miracle has taken place. Quietly. Un-accented and Divine.

The line of the flute, God the Father, is like vocal phrases called out assuredly that this is what was intended and would be. It begins the piece calling out what is and what was foretold.

The harp intertwines around the two other voices, insturments, and is like the constant motion of life and breath. It is continuos and quietly revolves like life's existance.

I dedicate this piece to all Mothers and their love for their children. Their newly gained feelings of protection, awe, joy and hope for their child.
